About Safety Salute

Church Safety

Church Safety focuses on ways to prevent incidents and accidents by maintaining the overall physical safety of the property. Safety in your place of worship is about the health and welfare of everyone on your worship property. We can assist you with safety planning.

Safety concerns you may need to address include:

  • Health emergencies: Ensuring staff and volunteers are trained in basic emergency response. Does your church have a first aid kit?
  • Child Safety: Safety includes running background checks on all persons who work with children, using secure check-in/out systems, and creating safe, clean children’s areas. Child protection policies and procedures are vital components to foster a safe and peaceful environment.
  • Weather Shelter Emergencies: Procedures for sheltering the congregation during tornado or other weather events are necessary. These are not evacuation plans but rather plans for where and how to shelter in place.
  • Fire Safety & Exit pathways: Keeping all exits clearly marked, well-lit, and unobstructed according to fire codes. Testing smoke detectors, ensuring fire extinguishers are operable, and performing other monthly facility checks that are necessary to identify risks and hazards.
  • OSHA Compliance: Churches are not exempt—this includes maintaining safety data sheets, ensuring PPE use, and creating safe working conditions for your paid staff and volunteers.

Church Security

Church Security focuses on protecting your church from intentional harm. This could include threats like property destruction from natural disasters or vandalism, hate crimes, cyber threats, financial misconduct and acts of violence.  A trained safety and security team whether volunteers or paid can help deter threats and give your congregation peace of mind.

At Safety Salute, we can help you plan protocols and respond effectively to incidents.

  • Create a written safety and security manual.
  • Develop emergency plans. Create response plans for threats like active shooters, vandalism, or natural disasters, and hold regular drills.
  • Lockdown Procedures : This type of procedure is enacted when various threats such as active shooters, terrorism, an intruder in the building, bomb threat, etc . are present.
  • Develop and organize safety/security team .

Protection must be intentional

To effectively protect your church, a comprehensive safety and security plan is a must. This plan should include a risk assessment, creating a dedicated security team, emergency response protocols, and clear communication strategies.

We can help you identify your risks and develop a Safety Ministry or Security team within your place of worship.

At Safety Salute, we understand the unique challenges churches and religious ministries face in keeping their congregations safe. Our services are tailored to meet the needs of faith-based organizations, with practical strategies for emergency preparedness, active threat response, fire safety, OSHA compliance, and volunteer safety training.

Safety Salute believes providing safety and security in our sacred places enhances our freedom to worship and congregate in the  presence of the spirit.

We do not provide security guards or enforcement services.
